As I walked round a corner at Tophill Low last week I saw this Roe Deer feeding in the undergrowth. It hadn't seen me so I crouched down to change my camera settings, knowing I would probably only get one shot. As the camera focused it froze and looked at me as I took this shot and then it disappeared into the bushes. Some of my best photos are taken from photography hides which can be amazing but I always think it's the face to face encounters that you remember, when there is nothing between you and nature.
